Lately, Palawan was named by National Geographic as the 20 Best Trips of 2011; wherein on 2007 it was honored as the best island attraction in East and Southeast Asia region by National Geographic Traveler publication, and the 13th best island in the globe for being “extremely attractive natural panoramas and sceneries.

Magazines such as the Conde Nast Traveler publication chose its islets, coves and beaches as the vacationer destination with the best seashores in Asia. Well-known underwater explorer Jacques Cousteau has defined the region as one of the greatest attractive panoramas in the world.

Palawan is also recognized globally for its perseverance of conserving and preservation of all their environmental fascinations whereas the Tubbatha Reef National Marine Park and the Puerto Princesa Subterranean Underground River National Park, both are found in the capital city, Puerto Princesa. These sites are proclaimed as World Heritage Sites by the UNESCO.

Apart from these, Palawan also showcases other breath taking sites such as the El Nido Marine Reserve Park, Coron Reefs, Calauit Wildlife Sanctuary, and Malampaya Sound Land and Seascape Protected Area. All these brag about the natural riches that Palawan has to give.
